My chosen speech is JFK's "Ask not what your country can do for you". I chose it because it sounds powerful, and has memorable quotes which could be used in my video.
As this speech was given when he first became president, it needed to be a sign of change for America, which was accomplished, as his speech is still well known to this day.
"As a candidate, Kennedy projected an image of youth and dynamism. In his campaign he promised to “get the country moving again,” a new ideal that comforted many Americans because they found a sense of hope and optimism."

"The address reflected Kennedy's confidence that his administration would chart a historically significant course in both domestic policy and foreign affairs. The contrast between this optimistic vision and the pressures of managing daily political realities at home and abroad would be one of the main tensions running through the early years of his administration."

In my own words, Kennedy showed a lot of confidence as a president, and it is reflected in his first speech. It was a turning point in America, and JFK was a popular president at the time.
